Who is it for? Selected campers, with a minimum age of 15 years of age, or sophomores in HS.
What is it? An opportunity to gain leadership skills, learn safety, progressions and spotting in specific gymnastic levels and events under the supervision of USAG Safety Certified Gymnastics Instructors. In addition, CITs are given the opportunity to learn leadership skills, while working with younger campers, assisting in the kitchen, assisting in large group games and work outs.
How does it work? CITs have a regular 'Dunkley Morning' at camp, rotating to all Olympic Events for work out in skill ability groups. During the afternoons, CITs are encouraged to choose 3 CIT Sessions to learn about safety, progressions and spotting. CITs share the responsibilities of assisting Lodge Counselors with younger campers during rest hour, AM clean up, evening activities, or bed time. In addition, CITs meet with a mentor counselor to assist and assess their leadership progress in the different areas (including respect, empathy, good listening skills, cooperation, making positive choices, and empowering kids...) We encourage CITs to get certified in basic 1st Aid through the Red Cross prior to attending Camp.
What are the perks? Each week CITs meet with counselors and plan a special CIT Star Night to celebrate their week's success! This wicked, awesome event has included: a sunset ski and camp fire, after dinner sail, a hike up Stowe Pinnacle….
The Dunkley CIT Program is a valued program with ninety percent of our staff coming from the CIT and JC program. It is an excellent opportunity for further involvement with gymnastics; many CITs/JCs (Junior Counselors) have gone on to coach at clubs, High Schools and Colleges around the USA!
CITs take $100 per week off the one week tuition.
*CITs arrive at noon on Sundays
Who is it for? Selected campers with a minimum age of 17 years of age and older (Seniors in HS or First Years in College). 2 - 3 JCs will be accepted each week.

How does it work? JCs have a regular “camper” morning or afternoon rotation, but for the other ½ of the day, they work a rotation with a Senior Counselor. JCs sometimes share bunk duties with a Senior Counselor. Each JC is assigned a mentor (senior counselor), who meets daily with the JC to provide feedback, assess progress and give positive support. We encourage JCs to get certified in basic 1st Aid through the Red Cross prior to attending Camp. They are also encouraged to get Life Guard Training~which Camp will pay for~ if they have any interest in waterfront!
What are the perks? Each week JCs plan a wicked special activity with the CITs, this usually takes place on Thursday evening.
