Dungeon builder is a UE4 editor tool which will help you in the process of creating buildings, dungeons or even side scroller maps.
The tool lets you "paint" your dungeon a little bit as you could do with the landscape editor. You can also use the tool with a vertical grid to create side scroller maps !
It comes with three panels which allows you to perform a buch of actions. From painting to editing.
This tool is a generic tool which allows you to edit a grid inside the editor. When you paint or edit the grid, the CellPaintSettings will be applied to the cells. (You can choose to paint only several settings at a time by using the checkboxes at the right of the settings).
Note : With the new 2.0 update, you can directly place actors from the content browser by using the "DungeonBuildingLogicFromAsset" building logic.
Once you have painted something inside the cells, the BuildingLogic will take cares of spawning cell content (Actors).
This BuildingLogic is a class that you can inherit from in Blueprint. This will allows you to choose what you want to spawn inside the cells.
You can find the settings that you have applied to the cells by getting the cell infos. You can use those settings to spawn different content inside the cells.
You can create you own BuildingLogic which will suite your workflow. You can also use one of those I put inside the demo project.
