DULCIE DEE

Dulcie Dee, a native New Yorker, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Her artistic journey began when she won first prize for her NYC Anti-Drug Abuse Poster contest, which inspired her to pursue a career in the arts.

Dee’s extensive travels throughout Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines, led her to develop a deep passion for snorkeling and the underwater world of their vibrant coral reefs. This fascination inspired her to create the “Marine Dreams” series, which premiered at the Hiraya Gallery in Manila. The series captured her awe-inspiring discovery of the rapidly eroding Philippine eco-treasure.

Dee’s unique approach to children’s literature culminated in the creation of “ABC Coral Reef,” a whimsical children’s book that aims to educate toddlers about the beauty of coral reefs and tropical marine life in the Pacific Ocean. In 2012, she launched “ABC Coral Reef” at a solo exhibition at the Jain Marunouchi Gallery in New York City.

Dee’s work has garnered international recognition, with articles published in prestigious magazines such as “Asiaweek,” “Taipan,” “Filipinas,” and “Transpacific.” Her efforts to raise awareness about the conservation of delicate coral reefs have been featured prominently in these publications.

Dee’s artistic style seamlessly blends Eastern and Western influences, characterized by vibrant tropical colors executed with clarity, texture, and precision. Her seascapes captivate the viewer, while enigmatic paintings of Geishas and Asian nymphs reveal the sensual beauty of the female form. In 2007, she showcased her erotic mixed media paintings at the MonkDogz Urban Art gallery in New York City. Currently, Dee resides in Chicago, where she creates mixed media digital images.
