• All gifts must be school appropriate and age appropriate.
• Items that promote violence, inappropriate language, or unsafe materials are not permitted.
• Food items are not allowed due to allergy considerations.
• Gifts should be thoughtful and respectful of cultural and religious values.
Gift Wrapping and Submission:
• Gifts must be placed in a gift bag and NOT wrapped.
• The student’s name (the giver) should be clearly labeled on a piece of paper and placed inside the bag.
• The administration or homeroom teacher will review each gift to ensure it meets the stated criteria.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and to share some important information about the Ramadan Challenge pack that was sent home during the first week of Ramadan. These activities are designed to help students focus on doing good deeds and making the most of their time during this blessed month. Please note the following details:
Participation in the challenge is optional and not graded.
Students are encouraged to complete most of the activities listed in the challenge. They should cut and glue these activities onto the brown bag upon completion.
The completed challenge must be submitted by March 23, 2026 to earn a reward.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in meaningful acts of kindness and reflection. We encourage all students to participate and make the most of this special time.
Written Homework update
Students need to write the spelling words twice on a paper and write 3 sentences using 3 words from the spelling list on the website. Please be sure to write your name, use capitalization, and punctuation marks properly. It's due on Friday.
Green folder
Please ensure that the green folders are sent to school on Mondays and Fridays, containing completed homework assignments and the reading log. Incomplete or missing homework will negatively impact your child's academic performance.
Show and Tell Update
We have a class of 22 students, and completing Show and Tell requires two class periods. For this reason, we have decided to alternate presentations by gender each week.
IXL Leaderboard Recognition
Top performers on the IXL Leaderboard will be announced every Monday, based on their achievements from the whole week.
Monthly Reading Recognition:
Reading winners will be announced at the end of each month, based on the total number of hours logged. Recognition is awarded for overall reading time, regardless of the platform used—whether through traditional books or digital tools like Raz-Kids.
Reading Comprehension
Students will benefit from using Raz-Kids to strengthen their reading comprehension skills. I'm integrating storytelling into our classroom activities to strengthen students' comprehension skills. If you prefer your child to read physical books at home, I encourage you to support their comprehension by discussing key story elements. Consider asking questions such as: Who are the main characters? What is the setting? What problem do they face? How is it resolved? What is the conclusion? What lesson was learned?
Field Trip Protocol:
Chaperone Requirements: Parents wishing to volunteer as chaperones must submit a copy of their driver’s license and proof of valid insurance. Once received, we will seek consent from all parents to allow assigned chaperones to transport their children.
OR
Transportation Costs: Chartering a bus costs $89 per hour with a three-hour minimum, and the driver remains on-site. These fees will be split among the students attending, along with the cost of the excursion.
Morning work challenge:
The Morning Work Challenge is a monthly review packet designed to reinforce key skills through daily in-class practice. While the packet is not graded, students are encouraged to complete it thoughtfully and consistently. At the end of the month, outstanding work is recognized based on the quality of writing, tracing, drawing, and coloring. This initiative promotes engagement, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
