Fact 1

The Duke of Hamilton was a Scottish Duke and the Commander in Chief of the Royalist forces during the Battle of Worcester in September 1651

Fact 2

During a Royalist attack he was shot through the thigh. He was taken to the Commandary where he died from his wounds a few days later.

Fact 3

Oliver Cromwell, leader of the Roundheads, offered his surgeon to help treat Hamilton, but the offer was refused.

Fact 4

The Duke of Hamilton was later buried at Worcester Cathedral. And you have now found the memorial! His grave is actually near the High Altar.
