Example Project: I work as a consultant for manufacturers. I design studies to assess usability by intended users, conduct testing sessions with users to assess their performance using the product. Write reports providing either design recommendations for the manufacturer to implement or assess residual risk of the current design for submission to FDA.
Piece of Advice from a Duke BME Graduate: "I found this role because I wanted to stay connected to the medical applications of devices while in the med device industry rather than just working on some feature of a product. I think it can be a good entry point to get experience in the medical device industry without many hard skills."
