RULES

• Be respectful to other members and each other.

  • We do not have a blacklist, but we expect members to exert some common sense for certain topics. Please spoil conversations regarding substance use, gore/violence, medical talk, and politics. 

    • If a member asks you to spoil a current topic, please be respectful and just spoil it.

  • Please do not post uncomfortable amounts of private information into the chat. Keep that to yourself or DMs.

• If you have an issue with another member, DM a mod.

  • If a mod is unable to solve this issue, we ask that you block the other member. 

• Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated out of character.

• This is an 18+ server, however NSFW content may only be posted to the NSFW channels and nowhere else. NSFW jokes are completely fine. Absolutely NO feral/wc NSFW will be tolerated. 

  • NSFW must be posted with a spoiler. No one wants to be jumpscared by NSFW.

• Do not vent in the server.

  • We had a channel called "#medical-status", however it was deleted due to excessive venting.  

• Unless we are doing public openings, the server is primarily an invite-only RP; if you'd like to invite someone, you must ping a mod to acquire an invite.

• The minimum post requirement is 3 sentences, AKA something akin to a dailies chat post. 

• The minimum amount of posts to log a thread is 8. This would be 4 posts from you, and 4 posts from your RP partner.

  • If there are more players in your thread, the minimum decreases. For 3 players it would be 3 posts from each player to a total of 9, and for 4 players it would be 2 posts minimum by each player.

• Threads will expire within a week from the last posted response.

  • Offshoots, however, do not expire until the thread itself closes.

• Don't injure/kill another's cat without permission.

• Age ups will occur once a month; on the 1st of the month.

• General bigotry is not tolerated in character EXCEPT FOR typical warrior cat bigotry towards other clans. Do NOT portray such bigotry in a positive light OOC, but let your characters be flawed IC to provide conflict. 

  • Bigotry/abuse in character history is allowed, if the content is tagged + spoiled properly. Do NOT portray bigots/abusers in a positive light OOC.

• In-character abuse is allowed so long as OOC it is not portrayed in a positive light + is tagged with an appropriate content warning.

• You can have a maximum of 6 active characters. You may NPC/kill off your character at any time.

• Disabled characters are more than welcome, but be mindful of the way you write them. If any ableism is noted within your writing, you will likely be DM-ed by a mod to adjust the way you write the character or scrap them altogether.

• It is preferred you avoid having two cats in the same clan with the same prefix, however if the owner of the cat who used that prefix PRIOR to you provides you approval to use that prefix as well, we will allow it. No more than 2 cats can have the same prefix in the same clan.

BUMPS, EXTENSIONS, AND THREAD EXPIRY

• As stated above, threads expire within a week from the last posted response - so after 7 days of inactivity, threads will be bumped, and a last call will be given for players to respond before they expire.

  • If an expired thread met logging requirements, you can still log the thread after it has expired. You can still gain XP from expired threads as long as they met logging requirements.

• Threads are bumped/expired around 9-10PM EST every day.

• Each thread has as many extensions as it does players - a thread with two players has two extensions, three has three, etc!

  • This does NOT apply for event threads/threads running on autoskip.

• Extensions can be asked for in the #questions channel. Extensions grant you an additional week (+7 days) to get a reply in before the thread expires.

  • During the holiday seasons we run holiday-specific extensions as we understand players can get busy. These are up to two weeks and are limited to only the winter holiday season.

• For all of the listed high ranks, we have an activity requirement set in place. This is to promote high ranks being present and active within the clans as having inactive high ranks can make leadership feel uninvolved as a whole.

  • • SHERIFF/SHEPHERD/DEPUTY, DOCTOR/NURSE, COURIER

• Activity requirements are as simple as posting a link to ONE (1) thread of in which a high ranked character was used in either a daily, offshoot, or a thread. While there may be a format used in the high rank check-in channel, you are not required to use it. You are, however, required to post the link to your RP.

  • • Life can get in the way sometimes. We know that it can be hard to constantly put out RP posts and as such dailies are an accepted form of check in for this. That said, 3 weeks of consecutive dailies will result in discussion regarding activity and possible demotion.

• Failure to post activity requirements for 3 consecutive weeks will result in demotion of the character.

• Posted activity requirements will make up for each individual week of missed activity. 

In order to apply for a kitten-producing fling, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

• • • Be active in the group for at least 2 months with the character

    • Have had other threads (minimum more than 1) involving OTHER characters besides your fling partner

    • Have had a minimum of 2 completed threads between both characters in the fling

• Flings will be approved by mods on a case by case basis. If approved, you will roll a d3 to decide how many kittens will be born. Kittens will take TWO IRL months before they are born.

In order to apply for a proper courtship, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

• • • Be active in the group for at least 2 months with the character

    • Have had other threads (minimum more than 1) involving OTHER characters besides your courting partner

    • Have had a minimum of 5 completed threads between both characters in the courtship

• Once approved, a courting ceremony will be posted within the clan-wide rp. These will last for a day, and will be scheduled for whatever day the two players agree upon.

• If interested in kittens once courting is complete, a d3 can be rolled at any time to decide how many kittens will be born. Kittens will take TWO IRL months before they are born. Once a cat gives birth to kits, they must undergo a cooldown of at least 4 months before they can have another litter.

KITTENS AND ADOPTING OUT

Once your player character has had kittens, please keep in mind that you must find adopters for them! DS operates on a 1 kitten per player at a time rule - bear in mind that if a player currently has a kitten and is attempting to apply for your kittens, they are not viable to adopt out to. However, if they adopted a kitten that is currently an apprentice or older, they are able to apply for your kittens!

• Players of the parents must find roleplayers to pick up the kittens within a month of the kittens being posted in adopts.

• Kittens cannot be made into NPCs- any unadopted kittens will die in game as a stillbirth.

• In order to post kittens, both player characters need to be in group. Retconning kittens (aka submitting a new set of characters who are in a relationship together and have kittens more than 0 moons old) is not allowed.

  • • This is a newer rule, and there may have been exceptions made in the past.

CHARACTER SLOTS

In DS, you have 6 character slots total; you may not get more characters once you reach 6 occupied slots. If you're looking to permanently NPC a character, you can have a cat archived. Archived cats cannot ever be played again once archived, and archival is not reversible. When you archive a cat, you will fill out a form that indicates whether or not the character is to remain alive as an un-interactable NPC, die to possible plot occurrences, or simply run away.  We will not kill a character, even an archived one, without the creator's approval. ARCHIVED cats can be utilized within offshoots and dailies, but cannot be used for event threads or threads in general.

Character slots are not distributed per clan; you have 6 slots, and you may put as many as you'd like in one clan or the other, or both. Cats cannot leave their clan unless it is either a plot-approved reason or a moderator-approved decision. 

Kittens are a little different- every player is granted one kitten slot. This means that should you decide to archive a kitten character, you will NOT be able to adopt another available kitten in the future nor play another kitten again.

RANKING UP - for apprentices

If you are playing an apprentice who reaches the age of 12- 18 moons, you may be eligible to rank up your character! If your character is an older apprentice and has been in the role for at least six in-game moons, you may also be eligible to rank up your character!

In order to rank up from apprentice to a full role, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

• • • Be active in the group for at least 2 OOC months with the character

    • Have had other threads (minimum of 1) involving OTHER characters besides your mentor(s)

    • Have had a minimum of 2 completed threads between the mentor(s) and apprentice

Once you've met the criteria, you may request to do an assessment to graduate. Assessments vary depending on roles.

• ARCHCLAN

  • Hunters

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful hunt and 1 successful climb to the top of the Forefather's eyes. The climb itself will be a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character, and the assessment will primarily use the strength and dexterity skill.

  • Guards

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful spar against your mentor and 1 successful climb to the top of the Forefather's eyes. The climb itself will be a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character, and the assessment will primarily use the strength and perception skill.

  • Herbalists

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful herb gatherings and 1 successful climb to the top of the Forefather's eyes. The climb itself will be a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character, and the assessment will primarily use the dexterity and botany skill.

  • Caretakers

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful herb gatherings and 1 successful spar against your mentor. This will use the botany and strength skill. 

  • Couriers

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful unguided passage to and from the camps of both clans, and will require 1 successful climb to the top of the Forefather's eyes. This will rely mostly on dexterity and perception skills.

  • Nurses

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful herb gatherings and 1 proper demonstration of healing and herb knowledge. These will use the botany and perception skills.

• GROTTOCLAN

  • Cavalry

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful hunt and 1 successful spar against your mentor. After passing the assessment, you will partake in a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character to receive your soulstone. Your assessment will primarily use the strength skill. 

  • Rockhound

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful exploration and 1 successful spar against your mentor. After passing the assessment, you will partake in a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character to receive your soulstone. Your assessment will primarily use the strength skill and dexterity skill. 

  • Caretakers

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful herb gathering and 1 successful spar against your mentor. This will use the botany and strength skill. After passing the assessment, you will partake in a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character to receive your soulstone. 

  • Couriers

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful unguided passage to and from the camps of both clans, and will require 1 successful spar against your mentor. This will rely mostly on dexterity and perception skills. After passing the assessment, you will partake in a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character to receive your soulstone. 

  • Nurses

    • Your assessment will require 1 successful herb gathering and 1 proper demonstration of healing and herb knowledge. These will use the botany and perception skills. After passing the assessment, you will partake in a thread that involves a moderator for flavour text and for rolling alongside your player character to receive your soulstone.

If at any point your character fails, they can retake their assessment after 1 IRL week has passed. Because of the way mentorship in this group works, you only need any available cat of rank to assess your character, and if anyone is not willing a moderator can step in and utilize an NPC as mentor as necessary.

RANKING UP - for kittens

If you are playing a kitten who reaches the age of 6 moons, you may be eligible to rank up your character! If your character is an older kitten and has been in the role for at least six in-game moons, you may also be eligible to rank up your character!

In order to rank up from a kitten to an apprentice, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

• • • Be active in the group for at least 2 OOC months with the character

    • Have had a minimum of 1 completed thread of which involves the kitten deciding what role they would like to train for (note that this CANNOT be counted in the same thread as the family thread!)

    • Have had a minimum of 1 completed threads between the kitten and family (if no family is present, caretakers/other clanmates fill this role !)

Once you have completed these requirements, your character will partake in an apprentice naming ceremony.
