Alan Knight

Landscape painter Alan Knight has it in his DNA as the great grandson of two 19th century British landscape painters: Joseph P. Knight (considered to be the founder of both the Manchester “school” of artists and the artists’ colony in Betws-y-Coed, Wales) and John Dawson Watson, illustrator of one of the very earliest editions of Robinson Crusoe. Great uncle Dawson Dawson-Watson was a key figure in the Giverny, France, artists’ colony, from which American ex-pats brought home this new thing called Impressionism.

For his own work, Alan converts his earlier career in agricultural and environmental writing into landscape paintings of special places, exhibiting mostly in galleries and shows conducted by the Cooperstown Art Association and the Spencertown Academy Arts Center. “A first step in protecting the planet is to love its beautiful places. I paint to foster love of them.”

Dianne Acevedo

Dianne Acevedo is a clerk at the Quaker Street branch of the Schenectady County Public Library system and has been a resident of Duanesburg for over 23 years. There has never been a time when she didn't love books and writing and has had a lifelong dream of being a published author. Her first "published" piece was in the school paper when she was in 2nd grade and she was the third place winner in a speech contest for energy conservation when she was in the 5th grade.

As an adult she attended numerous open mic poetry readings where she shared her "CDTA Queen" pieces which are observations from her time as a bus commuter in Albany. She has had several articles published in local arts magazines and, most recently, in a local golfing magazine. In addition, Dianne has experience with editing for a popular gaming company, Savage Mojo. Besides reading and writing she enjoys amateur photography and has her photos displayed in gallery member shows.
