COMPETITION FAQs

ENTRIES ACCEPTED: JUNE 1st - JULY 31st, 2022 || WINNERS ANNOUNCED: AUGUST 14th, 2022

CATEGORY A: Photography, Drawing, and Painting

2-D **Submission Guidelines*:**

All submissions should be formatted in one of the accepted file formats, and sized appropriately.

Please do your best to ensure that photographs of paintings, and drawings are taken under good lighting conditions, and that images are as sharp as possible.

Include: Sub-category, Title, Year of Completion, Dimensions (W"xH"), Medium, Brief Artist Statement/Bio, Description of Work (if applicable)

CATEGORY B: Poetry, Essays, and Short Stories

Writing Submission Guidelines*:

All submissions should be formatted as 12 point size, using Times New Roman font.

Open Style

Poetry - 60 line maximum

Creative Non-fiction

Short Stories – 1000 to 5000 words

Memoir Pieces & Essays - 350 to 1500 words

Include: Sub-category, Title, Year of Completion, Brief Artist Statement/Bio, Description of Work/Genre (if applicable)

1st Prize in Category A $150.00 || 2nd Prize in Category A $100.00 || Two Honorable Mentions in Category A $50.00

1st Prize in Category B $150.00 || 2nd Prize in Category B $100.00 || Two Honorable Mentions in Category B $50.00

Instructions:

Participants may submit, via email, no more than two (2) pieces total to the 2022 competition. When submitting multiple pieces please be sure to designate which entry form corresponds to the work. Submissions may be from either Category A and/or Category B (ex. A+A, A+B, B+B). Entries will be accepted June 1st - July 31st, 2022, with contest winners being announced August 14th, 2022. **If you are unable to submit work digitally, please contact us.

CONTEST IS FREE, AND OPEN TO ALL TOWN OF DUANESBURG RESIDENTS!

File Requirements:

File types accepted: pdf., jpg., png., docx

Rename each file with your last name_first initial_entry #. (ex. Smith_J_2.pdf)

*Individual Files larger than 5MB will not be accepted

Send submissions, a brief bio/artist statement, and one (1) completed entry form per entry to: duanesburgcompetition2021@gmail.com, with the Subject line: Duanesburg Competition 2022.
