Cements students' working knowledge of statistical programming and modelling in advanced econometrics topics including panel data methods and impact evaluation. Dedicated STATA labs where students routinely work on large datasets. Format: in-person and online. Textbook: About a third of the syllabus uses Introductory Econometrics, A Modern Approach by Jeffrey M. Wooldridge. The remainder is supplemented with a comprehensive peer-reviewed journal article reading list.

Econ 452 Health Economics, California State University Chico, USA

Provides student with a toolkit for analyzing issues related to global health economics. Regular use of journal articles and dedicated STATA labs for the empirical analysis. Format: in-person and online. Textbook: custom made text using Global Health 101 (3rd edition) by Richard Skolnik and Case Studies in Global Health: Millions Saved by Ruth Levine.

Econ 375 Development Economics, California State University Chico, USA

Studies the economic circumstances and the contributions of economic analysis for the billions of people who live in the developing world. Students learn to write Policy Briefs as part of the assessment. Format: in-person and online. Textbook required: Economics of Development by Perkins, Radelet, Lindauer, and Block . Textbooks recommended: Poor Economics by Abhijit Banerjee and Ester Duflo, The End of Poverty by Jeffrey Sachs, Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson.

Econ 103 Microeconomics Principles, California State University Chico, USA

The stepping stone for the study of economics. Uses the basic principles of microeconomics to lay the foundation of individual behavior, market analysis, and production decisions. Promotes experiential learning through experiments. Newest additions: Externalities and living in the era of Covid19 Pandemic, Welfare state and economic recovery post pandemic. Format: in-person and online. Textbook: Microeconomics by Paul Krugman and Robin Wells.
