Dhanu's research combines the fields of economics, geography, psychology, and nutrition. Her research interests, broadly construed, focuses on human capital formation, poverty analysis, and early childhood development. She is an ardent follower of large and publicly available datasets that facilitate equitable research across the spectrum. She divides her time between academic research, teaching, and consulting.
