Taiwan's Bubble Tea Coming to Switzerland

Bubble tea is available in many countries and is quite popular in the US and some European nations. But few people are aware that it originated in Taiwan. Some people even think it is an American product.

A Taiwanese woman, Ko Ning-hui , owns a bubble tea shop in Switzerland. She wants to inform people that bubble tea comes from Taiwan, so it can become a symbol of Taiwan like sushi is for Japan, and kimchi is for Korea.

She did market research for three years before introducing bubble tea to local residents. To test the popularity of the drink, Ko served it for free with set meals to customers. It was gradually accepted by consumers after eight months of marketing. Ko opened her first bubble tea store in Lausanne about a year ago. It was featured in the Sooishi food blog and in the French-language newspaper Le Temps .

Ko wants her customers to experience authentic bubble tea. So,she imports her equipment and ingredients, such as taro and red beans,from Taiwan. Ko plans to open a second bubble tea shop in Lausanneand possibly a chain store in Geneva later this year.

台灣珍珠奶茶風靡瑞士

珍珠奶茶在很多國家都買得到,在美國和一些歐洲國家都相當普遍,但很少人知道珍珠奶茶源自臺灣,有些人甚至認為是美

國的產品。

一位臺灣女子葛寧卉,在瑞士擁有一間珍珠奶茶店,她想讓大家知道珍珠奶茶來自於臺灣,因此它能成為臺灣的象徵,就像日本的壽司、韓國的泡菜一樣。

在引進珍珠奶茶給當地的居民前,她做了三年的市場調查,為了測試飲料受歡迎的程度,葛寧卉隨套餐附贈免費的珍珠奶茶給顧客,經過八個月的行銷,它逐漸被顧客所接受。葛寧卉一年前在洛桑鎮開了她的第一間珍珠奶茶店,美食部落格 Sooishi 和法文報紙Le Temps 都有特別介紹。

葛寧卉希望她的顧客能體驗道地的珍珠奶茶,因此她從臺灣進口設備和食材,像是芋頭和紅豆等。葛寧卉計畫在洛桑鎮開第二間珍珠奶茶店,可能的話,今年下半年還想在日內瓦開設一間加盟店。
