The venue for this project was the Shuster Lab for Digital Scholarship at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Gordon Library.
Established in 2018, the lab offers WPI’s 6000 students a dedicated space and technologies for small group work and teaching about digital scholarship techniques and tools. With a focus on team- and project-based learning that is a core element of the WPI curriculum, the lab helps students discover and use digital techniques for exploring and conducting research and conducting project and purpose-driven teamwork.
Prior to a one-year temporary closing during the pandemic, the lab served as a space for several small faculty-led seminars; library instruction and project team meetings; as well as hosting a “Digital Volunteers” program where the community is invited to participate in equity- and diversity-related collaborative projects.
The lab is one element of the Gordon Library's program of Digital Scholarship services, which also include Digital WPI, an institutional repository and digital archive.
