General Information

These ports normally come in a standard 6-Pin interface with 4 signals, one ground and one power pin.

The male connectors on the board are commonly referred to as " Pmod Connectors" while their female counterparts are known as "Pmod host ports".

In common use of Pmod Ports there are 3 main ways to connect them to a host board.

• Plug the Pmod directly into the Pmod Host Board
• Use Pmod cables which can be specialized for your intended purpose having pin options such as 6-pin, 12-pin, and 12-pin to dual 6-pin splitter cables.
• Wire up the Pmod using MTE cables or even individual jumper wires, this can be necessary if the host board does not have enough Pmod ports built in.

P mod pins also have a general convention they follow.

• The first few pins on a Pmod are for data transfer while the last two pins are always used for power and ground.
• If the Pmod is large enough, 12 pins , then there will be an extra power and ground used for pins 5 and 6.
