We, the Developer Student Club at Mt. SAC, help students bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing fellow students at Mt. San Antonio College extra resources outside of the classroom to prepare them for industry standards, for both technical and non-technical majors. Learn new skills, build projects, and meet new people!
We are in no way a part of Google themselves, but rather, sponsored by Google Developers.
We hold demos, tech talks, hackathons, conferences, and gatherings to watch videos that will cater to the needs of our members. For now, these events will be held via live stream on our YouTube channel, and they will always be recorded if you cannot attend. These events are diverse and range in skill level; from non-technical majors who want to learn more to skilled developers.
We typically host events bi-monthly on the 2nd and 4th week of the month.
You can join by simply filling out the Google Form located in the "Join Us!" tab or by following the link provided here: Google Forms - DSC[Mt.SAC] Interest Form
No. This club is open to all students, regardless of major.
No. All events - workshops, meetups, talks, etc. are free to attend.
We recommend you bring a notebook, pen, and a laptop when attending a workshop, but most importantly a strong dose of curiosity and enthusiasm!
All of our events will be recorded, saved, and available to the public on our YouTube channel!
Since events are currently online due to quarantine, all students from any high school or college can join and participate in any event. However, once quarantine ends and events become hosted in person, non-Mt.SAC student participation is limited. They would not be able to participate in on-campus activities due to liability issues. Luckily, DSC chapters can be found all over the world, so you should check to see if your school has a DSC chapter set up for you.
Any member apart of the DSC and over the age of 18 can participate in the solution challenge.
