The Developer Student Club hosts events each month, some public and others within the club. These events focus on a variety of developer platforms and tools through the use of Qwiklabs, a hands-on, lab-based platform from Google which gives students the ability to learn GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and many other tools that we would normally have to pay for, as well as teaching non-tech skills like resume writing and using Linkedln that will be useful in the workforce.
Qwiklabs organizes topics into “Quests” which are playlists of labs that focus on a variety of topics like ML, AI, TensorFlow, Firebase, BigQuery, Network Engineering, Security, and much more. The best part is that many of these quests require little-to-no previous knowledge to participate. However, if you’re a more advanced developer, Qwiklabs offers Quests at varying skill levels from Introductory to Expert.
Outside of Qwiklabs, we also host Google Experts to teach popular Google platforms, such as Flutter or Firebase. This gives club members an inside look at how developers use these platforms to create modern apps. We also host speakers to present topics unrelated to Google, as we understand that there are other platforms/topics that also bring value to students.
Above all, the Developer Student Club should serve as a community, a family, and an escape. This club isn’t a commitment. It’s a place where any student can join, lean on others for help, and have fun as we advance our skill-sets and our careers.
