Help Support Immigrants

With the attacks on the migrant population plus our general rights and freedoms from the Trump White House, we must be on the front line of resistance or support for the migrant community in Louisiana. We have 8 ICE Detention facilities within our state, as these fascist attacks continue and expand in scope we will become the home of these political prisoners so it is on us to do what we can. We are getting members of our chapter trained on facility visitation, we are getting letter-writing campaigns going, and we're getting connected with other groups from across the state to begin more large-scale forms of resistance, if you have skills that can help please let us know!

Currently, we are focusing on the case of Mahmoud Khalil who is being held in Jena for speaking out against the genocide in Gaza so please use the link below to send letters to demand his release 

Creating New Unions in Louisiana

As a socialist group we support the right to organize so that the working class may be able to fight for control over their workplace in the short term and over the means of production in the long term.  We are currently fighting for the creation of new unions in north Louisiana and a strengthening of the ones we already have! Right now we are working with a few different folks on some exciting labor projects and we are always looking for more people to help and support! So even if you think you're alone in wanting to form a union, talk to us!!!   

Building Community, Independence, and Education

As we see a new wave of fascism within the United States we are seeing the same old playbooks being used by the capitalist ruling elite to divide the working class so that its easier to beat us. So instead of being divided and conquered, we seek to make a Shreveport that is united and liberated from the constraints that our current system puts on us. That's why we are seeking to create a city-wide collation of groups that uplift the working class, fight for the marginalized, are anti-fascist, abolitionist in nature, or anti-imperialistic so that we may better uplift the working class of Shreveport and north Louisiana as whole so that we may all fight for the overthrowing of capitalism.

Our current goal is to get connected with active groups that are providing material support to the working class in a way that can help to build worker independence from our current reliance on capitalism.  While we know that this task will not be accomplished through the current organization of the working class we seek to move workers in Shreveport towards this vision through working with these other groups. Our goal when engaging with these groups is two-fold, firstly we seek to support the work they are doing and to make them into a stronger and more reliable resource for workers then they already are, and secondly is to learn important skills from them as a group that can flavor our own community efforts. The hope is that with these efforts, collation building by creating more permanent ties between groups and working on joint projects, and doing community education based on teaching about current issues going on through a Marxist perspective, we plan to create a real long-lasting revolutionary movement in north Louisiana!
