Prototype

This is Recyclotron 5000, our prototype for a smart waste management system which focuses on collecting scrap waste such as paper, cardboard, bottles etc. from gated communities while simultaneously offering incentives to the user. The resident of the gated community is registered through his mobile number which is needed to authorize himself. Then they have to choose what type of waste they're disposing. Once done, the door opens and allows the user to insert the scrap. After confirmation, the bin calculates and displays the weight of the waste disposed by the user and updates their balance in the database which they can redeem in the gated community's store which we would be partnering with. The balance is also displayed on the bin and the user is thanked for his contribution. Our prototype also has a leveling system based on user loyalty which gives the user an incentive to continue his usage of the bin. More the usage, better the reward. Once the bin is about to be full, the service person is notified via SMS that it needs emptying. The warning is also conveyed on the display of the bin. All-in-all, Recyclotron 5000 is a smart yet efficient way to dispose scrap waste in return for money without the need to deal with a middleman and the unfair prices.
