Peace of Christ & Glory to God for all things!
The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church (MOSC) has increasingly focused its missionary efforts on addressing the spiritual needs of communities in South America. His Grace (H.G.) Abraham Mar Stephanos first visited Ecuador and, recognizing both the need and the potential for the growth of Holy Orthodoxy in the region, initiated the MOSC mission in South America.
Working in collaboration with the Metropolitans of the North American continent, both H.G. Zacharias Mar Nicolovos (North-East American Diocese & Canadian Diocese) and H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Ivanios (South-West American Diocese), the three bishops, together with the Holy Synod, have prayerfully guided the Church’s missionary direction. Through these efforts, the mission has continued to expand, reaching surrounding villages in Ecuador and Brazil and bringing the message of Holy Orthodoxy to new communities.
The mission began, and continues to be, focused on serving the people.
Fr. George Hatcher trains the newly-ordained clergy on the Holy Qurbana.
H.G. Ivanios ordains Fr. Crisóstomo, Fr. Baradeo, and Dn. Isaías.
The South American mission is in need of your help! Donations to the mission aid in addressing the poverty and job insecurity in the area. Many of the faithful may struggle with health issues, transportation, and/or sanitation. Additionally, donations can help with the continued growth of the Church in South America!
