DS-MED LAB Data Science andBiomedical Systems Lab University of Information Technology
DS-MED LAB is a dedicated research group in Data Science and Biomedical Systems, led by PhD. Nguyen Tat Bao Thien, an experienced researcher in this field. The lab currently includes 3 PhD candidates, 5 master’s students, and 8 undergraduates involved in research projects and thesis work. Since 2018, the group has published a total of 26 scientific research papers.
The group’s core research areas focus on medical image processing and classification, working with data types such as ECG, X-ray, CT, MRI, PET scans, and ultrasound. We apply artificial intelligence techniques to predict and diagnose diseases in the brain, chest, abdomen, bones, joints, kidneys, fetus, and vascular systems.
In addition, DS-MED LAB is actively engaged in optimizing machine learning and deep learning models for efficient and accurate medical applications. We also develop multimodal models that integrate image analysis with medical question answering and clinical decision support. Our mission is to drive innovation in intelligent healthcare through interdisciplinary collaboration and applied AI research.
