Dr. Veerabhadragouda B. Patil [ವೀರಭದ್ರಗೌಡ ಬ. ಪಾಟೀಲ]
Pavilon C, Studentska 210, Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, EUEmail: iamveerabhadraa@gmail.comPhone: +420 777405079; +91 8722595179Veerabhadragouda B. Patil completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Svatopluk Zeman at the Institute of Energetic Materials, Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic (2020–2024). He is the first person in his family to cross oceans for study at abroad. His thirst for knowledge, a keen interest in upgrading skills, the ability to solve current problems, and a passion for science and technology gave him the courage to pursue a career in research involving an interdisciplinary approach.
During his Ph.D. studies, he completed two Erasmus+ internships, one at Łukasiewicz Research Network − Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry, Warszawa (2022), Poland, and another at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Munich, Germany (2023). He developed skills in crystallization methodologies and surface functionalization-insensitive nitramines. He gained expertise in the design and preparation of the cocrystallization of nitramines. He has developed a coagglomeration method of cocrystallization for attractive nitramines that is adaptable for large-scale preparation, currently known as VPSZ Coagglomeration. In the initial trials, 2 Kg batches were prepared and further utilized in gun and rocket propellants, and found improvements in properties and performance.
He has two years of GUG-PEL Project (funded by Premier Explosives Ltd., Hyderabad, India) experience (2018–2019). Furthermore, he has two years of working experience as a Quality Assurance officer at Cipla Ltd., India (Pharmaceutical company-API unit) (2015–2017). He has completed his M.Sc. from the Karnataka University, Dharwad, India (2013–2015), in Chemistry with an academic project and also, a summer research project at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India (2014). He has published more than 50 journal and conference research articles, with more than 700+ Google Scholar citations and an h-index of 15. He also has prestigious memberships in the scientific societies: Indian Chromatographic Society (2018–), American Chemical Society (2020–), Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) (2022–), and German Chemical Society (GDCh) (2023–).
He is an experienced researcher with a diverse background, having worked in leading Indian and European research laboratories, as well as in the pharmaceutical, defense, and space industries. With several years of expertise in crystal engineering, cocrystallization of energetic materials, burn rate modifications of solid rocket propellant, nanochemistry, energetic material detection, conducting polymers, and materials science, Dr. V. B. Patil is a highly skilled professional in the field.
A confident communicator, Dr. V. B. Patil has presented research at over ten conferences and excels at building cross-functional teams through scientific collaboration. Leadership qualities include decisiveness, integrity, relationship building, and the ability to teach and mentor. Known for thinking outside the box and being highly self-motivated, Dr. V. B. Patil brings a unique problem-solving approach to both academic and industrial projects. He also has experience in data analysis using tools such as Origin and Excel, helping teams achieve results in deadline-driven environments.
