DRUK PECI

“15 billion pencils are used all across the world every year. It means several trees need to be cut down for manufacturing these pencils. Undoubtedly, this number is quite scary!”

“The earth is becoming hotter by the day and we're not doing enough to slow down climate change”.

Druk Peci, located at Lungsigang, Guma Gewog, Punakha, Bhutan, few kilometers away from Punakha town. The core business is the production of Paper Pencil and Paper Colour Pencil with future expansion to manufacture other related stationery items that can be used.

Paper Pencils

At Druk peci, we are constantly committed to make a difference and bridge this gap. Our team keeps churning their brains to make best out of waste. We had a completely different and innovative approach on countering this newspaper and waste paper pollution. We make pencils and colour pencils that are not only wood-free but also made from waste paper.

“A pencil is a writing implement or art medium constructed of a narrow, solid pigment core inside a protective casing which prevents the core from being broken and/or from leaving marks on the user’s hand during use”

How many times have you read a newspaper once and then picked it up again? It is common for us to pick up a newspaper once, read it and then forget about it forever. Did you know that wastage caused by newspapers and other waste paper is one of the leading sources of paper pollution?
