I have taught a variety of courses at the University of Mannheim, Mannheim Business School, and the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in German and English, covering topics such as taxation and public economics. My teaching spans Bachelor and Master programs, and I have also gained extensive experience supervising student theses at all levels.
In my teaching, I aim to show students how exciting taxation can be and to highlight how tax systems are highly relevant to everyday economic decisions. Taxes influence individuals and firms in many ways, yet they are often perceived as abstract or purely technical. My goal is to help students understand how tax policy shapes incentives, behavior, and economic outcomes, and to connect theoretical concepts with real-world policy questions. I hope students leave my courses not only with analytical tools, but also with a deeper appreciation of how taxation affects their own lives and the broader economy.
