Meet The Band
Introducing Darrell Bird - Drums
He started out at the age of 9 going to lessons to a local music teacher up the road from us in South London until his folks moved to Cornwall in late 77. Then he was sent to a silver band to further my skills. He also played for his mum's tap dancing classes which consisted of various jazz standards. Later when he was around 15 he discovered punk rock and joined his first band. This lead on to gigs, girls rock n roll etc lol 😆 😀
It all started to snowball from there on. Later on in his 20s he joined a band called 'The Is' and we had a record contract with 'Dave Anderson'. He discovered many bands and was in 'Hawkwind' himself as well as 'Amondull and the Groundhogs'. He met many famous people from here on in. To this day he still gig a few times a year with 'Nik Turner's' line up of 'Hawkwind' and most importantly I have now teamed up with the amazing 'Dr Splink'. So onwards and upwards 😀
