MD. SAIFUL ISLAM

Md. Saiful Islam is an enthusiastic researcher with a strong interest in science communication, especially interaction between microbes and their hosts. He is impetuous about conducting research on microorganisms in both animals and humans. Currently, he is doing his PhD in Animal Biology at the University of California, Davis, USA. In his PhD, he'll be doing his research on occupational exposure to antimicrobial resistance. Also, he'll be working on the National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System project. Before that, he earned his MS in Microbiology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at Bangladesh Agricultural University. He has published several scientific articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and has presented scientific findings at national and international conferences. His areas of interest include- Antibiotic Resistance, Food Safety, Foodborne Pathogens, Animal Biology, One Health, Microbiology, Zoonosis, Microbial Ecology, and Host-Microbe interactions.

Hobbies during free time (other than science): hiking, watching and playing football and cricket, hanging out with friends, watching movies and TV series, and so on.
