Rhonda Wade has been in the education field for over 25 years. Her passion is learning and assisting students and staff to excel. Her unique ability to apply business principles and current technology to the education field stems from her desire to see increased productivity and efficiencies.
Dr. Wade began her career teaching economics and computer programming as a college instructor in 1985 after receiving her MBA. She then served as a Director of Budgeting and Financial Planning at a Tennessee hospital. Her work led the hospital to a streamlined budgeting process and the completion of a cost accounting system. She then moved to Texas after her marriage and worked as Director of Continuing Education at a community college helping to develop both recreational and professional programming. Her business leadership allowed the department to become self-sufficient for the first time in history coupled with a targeted marketing plan.
In the field of public education, Dr. Wade has served on campuses at every level as a teacher, assistant principal, or principal. She began her public education in Texas career teaching Geometry at Angleton High School. After helping her husband as co-owner of their real estate redevelopment project for several years, she returned to teaching 8th grade Math at Brazosport ISD. After three years, she became the Secondary Math Coach for the district and then the District Math Curriculum Coordinator. After assisting an Improvement Required Campus with their math instruction, she was selected as an Assistant Principal at the campus. With Dr. Wade's math and business background, she excels at creating data tools to inform decision-making. She was asked by the district to assist two more campuses with instructional issues before being named the Principal of Velasco Elementary. She is most proud of helping lead the campus out of "Improvement Required" status for two years in a row!
After serving as the Director of Secondary Curriculum and the Executive Director, Dr. Wade currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning at Floresville ISD. She received her Doctorate of Education in 2013 from the University of Houston.
