Outreach

We are always working on sharing our research and knowledge about bats out to the public. While we are working on creating more items for folks to use in their classrooms, we have a few fun features to share that are fully available for folks to access or use in their classrooms, library programs or outreach events. We ask that you acknowledge the Bernard Research Lab if using these materials. If you have ideas and would like to chat about developments or partnerships regarding outreach, please contact us!

Summer Captures.mp4

This short video describes some of the steps we take during summer field work to collect data about bats captured on the landscape.

This video highlights winter cave surveys in Wyoming. The goal of these surveys are to 1) determine what species are hibernating in our local caves, mines and buildings; 2) how many individuals of each species are present; and 3) collect fungal swab or environmental samples to determine presence of P. destructans, the causative agent of white-nose syndrome.
