Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Alongside my academic research, I am actively involved in technology commercialisation and startup innovation, focusing on translating membrane science into real-world hydrogen energy applications.
In 2025, I was selected for the National Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP) Singapore cohort, a competitive national entrepreneurship program supporting deep-tech innovation.
The program awarded SGD 250,000 in support of the startup concept:
Membrionex
A deep-tech startup focused on developing advanced Anion Exchange Membranes (AEM) for next-generation fuel cells and hydrogen electrolysers.
Membrionex aims to improve:
• low cost, PFAS free AEM membrane
• electrochemical stability
• long-term durability
• scalable manufacturing
The goal is to enable low-cost hydrogen production and clean energy technologies.
Industry Collaborations
My research and innovation efforts are closely connected with industry partners working on hydrogen systems, membrane technologies, and process engineering.
Startup & Industrial Collaborations
• HydGen – hydrogen electrolysis systems
• ThioSpark – clean technology development
• Flint – advanced materials innovation
• NAMITEC – engineering and technology solutions
These collaborations focus on translating laboratory innovations into commercial hydrogen and membrane technologies.
