FAQs for Students

Q1: What makes a good DRP project?

A good DRP project is any topic that:

  • interests you,

  • isn't part of the standard undergrad math curriculum, and

  • can be learned in a single semester.

Your DRP project should be chosen in consultation with your mentor.

Q2: How much time should I be putting into the DRP project each week?

Roughly 3 hours: 1 hour for the video call with your mentor, and 2 hours for the independent work outside the video call.

Q3: Can I get course credit for doing the DRP? Will the DRP appear on my transcript?

As of this semester, it's not possible to receive course credit for the DRP, or have the DRP appear on your transcript.
