Research Experience
Associate Research Fellow, Intelligent Backscatter Communication (Aug 2022 - June 2023)
School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia
Responsibilities: Funded through the Australian Research Council (ARC) grant. The objective of the project is to enhance the privacy preservation ability of the smart grid (SG)/vehicle to grid (V2G) network as well as consider secure and efficient communication by using URLLC technology. For this, we are using different machine learning-based approaches such as Follow The Regularized Leader (FTRL), Federated Learning (FL), and Reinforcement Learning (RL).
Research Assistant (July 2021–Dec 2021, Feb 2022 - Aug 2022, June 2023 - Dec 2023)
School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia
Responsibilities: Funded by the School of Information Technology, Deakin University. My projects are related to ‘Cybersecurity’ focusing on Machine learning/Artificial Intelligent for the privacy and security of smart meters (SMs) in the smart grid network and electric vehicle (EVs) in the vehicle to grid network. For the cost-friendly privacy and security of SMs and EVs, I am using energy storage devices such as rechargeable batteries and different machine learning mechanisms such as MDP, Reinforcement learning and Federated learning (FL).
PhD Researcher (Mar 2017 – July 2021)
School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia
Responsibilities: Funded through the scholarships awarded by Deakin University. My project was related to ‘Cybersecurity’ focused on the privacy and security of smart meters (SMs). For the cost-friendly privacy and security of SMs, I used energy storage devices such as rechargeable batteries, and renewable energy sources (solar panels, wind turbines). Finding an innovative idea for cost-friendly privacy and security methods of SMs. Collecting and processing the real-world dataset for the simulations (REDD dataset, SM data from East Midlands, UK). Developing algorithms for the proposed method.
Research Assistant (Sep 2012 - Sep 2014)
Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Malaya, Malaysia.
Funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. I worked as a research assistant in the project titled “Regenerative Biomechanics of Human Body” (project no UM.C/HIR/MOHE/ENG/44) for two years. My work was related to image processing.
Responsibilities: Focusing on the current research on image processing to understand the research work on this field. Collecting data, conducting workshops, and presenting papers in conferences. Preparing draft and submitting articles to renowned journals. Guiding undergraduate students regarding their thesis and research.
