Dr Hossain is a cybersecurity and artificial intelligence researcher specialising in privacy-preserving smart energy systems, smart grids, and electric vehicle networks. He has been actively teaching in higher education since 2010, with academic experience across Australia, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. His roles have included Assistant Professor, Lecturer, Sessional Academic, Course Coordinator, IT Subject Expert, and Academic Coordinator, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in IT, computer science, and engineering.

Internationally, Dr Hossain served as Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Bangladesh, and as a Researcher at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, contributing to advanced research in image processing and biomedical engineering. In Australia, he has more than 8 years of Academic leadership and research experience. He held academic and leadership roles at Deakin University, Edvantage Institute of Australia, Ozford Institute of Higher Education, Holmes Institute, and Sydney International School of Technology and Commerce.

His research is published in leading IEEE journals and has been supported by ARC-funded projects. He has extensive experience in curriculum development, academic governance, and accreditation processes, particularly with ACS and TEQSA standards.

Dr Hossain is a member of IEEE, ACS, and ASA, and is committed to research-informed teaching, student success, and continuous improvement in academic quality.
