As an educator for 27 years, I’ve been fortunate to work for 7 superintendents and numerous building leaders. With each mentor, I've tried to emulate their most positive attributes. In doing so, I've been able to develop unique talents and receive awards for my work.

Summarizing student performance in Coeur d'Alene Public Schools
Why is professional development important for school district growth?
Technology is a passion and I rely upon my skills in Web and graphic design and basic programming to bring my work to life. I am proficient in G-Suite, Office, and Creative Cloud applications.
I am committed to the use of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure that all students are learning and that there is an emphasis on collaborative decision-making.
I have been certified to evaluate others using the Danielson Framework for Teaching and believe in a collaborative approach to address deficiencies while focusing on personal and professional growth.
I am confident in front of others and have been doing radio and public address broadcasts for many years at multiple levels/ events inducted into the University of Idaho athletic hall of fame in 1995.
Having worked in Coeur d'Alene Public Schools for over 20 years, I have been involved in the strategic planning process at multiple levels. I'm familiar with current plans and how they are being implemented.
I am fiscally responsible and have managed budgets in excess of $1.7M. As a leader, I am transparent with how monies are spent and whether the amount invested is connected to the results examined.
In 2005, as a teacher and International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator, I was recognized with the Milken Educator Award. To date, only 18 awards have ever been given in Idaho. I continue to work with the Foundation today to award additional awards in our state.
Mike received National Board Certification in "World Languages Other than English" in 2005; the first to receive that certificate in Idaho.
Our family believes that memories are more valuable than things. In that spirit, and focused on pride in our country, we have attempted to visit each of our 50 United States capitols - we'll be at 48 of 51 by the end of this calendar year.
At each location, our children learn state symbols, and interview a state official, journaling about what makes "their state great."
Mike has received two awards from the Associated Student Bodies of Coeur d'Alene and Lake City High Schools at the annual "Fight for the Fish" competition for dedicated service to each high school.
