Teaching is my passion, and learning is my lifelong commitment. My journey in education began in 2005 as an undergraduate volunteer at a rural elementary school in Taiwan, where I discovered the joy of teaching by introducing children to computer programming. Soon after, I served as a teaching assistant and tutor-marker in programming courses at National Formosa University.
In 2018, I completed the Certificate Program in University Teaching and Learning at Simon Fraser University. This experience deepened my understanding of inclusive pedagogy and continues to shape my teaching practice. I also collaborated with my mentor, Dr. Susan Barber, to enhance the design of Curriculum Development: Theory and Practice (EDUC 471) at SFU.
I am now a faculty member in the Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University, where I teach graduate courses for in-service teachers and conduct research in educational technology. My work focuses on:
Integrating AI in education
Supporting self-regulated learning and personalized learning
Examining the ethical use of generative AI in classrooms and online environments
Beyond Academia
Outside of my professional work, I enjoyed short hikes with my dog, DD, who was by my side throughout my academic journey. I am also a lifelong volleyball player and continue to play competitively. Another passion of mine is astrophotography—chasing the northern lights in the winter and photographing the Milky Way on summer nights.
