Teaching Dossier ML.pdfBrief Biography
Teaching is my passion, and learning is my motto. I first began my teaching career as an undergraduate volunteer at a rural elementary school in Taiwan from 2005 to 2006. The volunteer experience sparked my interest in teaching computer programing. From 2010 to 2011 at National Formosa University I was a teaching assistant and a tutor marker for courses in Web Programming Design and Basic Programming Design.
At Simon Fraser University, I completed the Certificate Program in University Teaching and Learning in 2018. In the certificate program, not only I learned skills for teaching diverse students, but I also became acquainted with more opportunities for designing teaching. Since completing that program, I had been actively collaborating with my teaching supervisor Dr. Susan Barber since the Fall of 2018 to improve the course in which I was a tutor-marker - Curriculum Development: Theory and Practice (EDUC471).
In my spare time, I like to go for a short hike with my dog - DD. I have DD since he was a puppy, and he has companied me for three degrees (University to Ph.D.)! I am enthusiastic about volleyball since high school and play volleyball competitively. I also like photography, particularly taking pictures of DD with nature. In the Fall and Winter, I chase the northern lights. In the Summer, I photograph the Milky Way. Here I share some of the photos I took.
