Science Curriculum Designer & Subject Matter Expert (Full Time)
In my current role with Ignite Education Group, I design NGSS-aligned, inquiry-based science curriculum for Grades 6–12, spanning Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth & Space Science. My work emphasizes real-world relevance, sustainability, and biotechnology, integrating project-based learning and equitable instructional practices to support diverse learners.
I develop digital learning experiences that include interactive infographics, simulations, multimedia content, and formative assessments within Canvas, accompanied by comprehensive teacher and student guides with clearly articulated learning objectives, rubrics, and differentiated supports. Through close collaboration with cross-functional academic and design teams, I ensure pedagogical rigor, accessibility, and a student-centered learning experience that cultivates curiosity, scientific reasoning, and long-term STEM engagement.
Biochemistry Subject Matter Expert (Contract)
As a Summer Biochemistry Subject Matter Expert for South College Online, I collaborated closely with the Instructional Design team to develop an undergraduate-level online biochemistry course for health sciences students. I contributed to the design of interactive virtual lab activities, authored measurable learning outcomes, and developed ten structured learning modules enriched with current journal articles and curated educational videos.
My role also included creating aligned assessments to evaluate learning outcomes and participating in weekly design review meetings to refine content based on instructional feedback. This experience strengthened my ability to translate complex biochemical concepts into engaging, accessible online learning experiences aligned with adult and undergraduate learner needs.
Middle & High School Math, Science, and Spanish Online Instructor (Full Time)
At Ignite Learning Academy, I provided full-time online instruction to students across the United States in Math, Science, and Spanish for Grades 6–11, working within an accredited, personalized online learning curriculum. My teaching practice was informed by my Certification in Virtual Teacher Specialization (University of California, Irvine) and integrated both synchronous and asynchronous instructional models, ensuring flexibility while maintaining academic rigor in a fully virtual environment.
I led live, interactive classes using web-conferencing platforms, audiovisual tools, and a virtual interactive whiteboard, actively facilitating discussions and encouraging student participation to keep learners engaged. Instruction emphasized conceptual understanding, real-world application, and student voice in the online classroom.
I monitored and documented student progress through the Learning Management System (ManageBac), providing grades along with customized, actionable feedback aligned to learning objectives. In addition to whole-class instruction, I supported learners through regular office hours, one-on-one sessions, and small-group interventions, addressing diverse academic needs.
Beyond core instruction, I led online Science Clubs, designing hands-on and inquiry-based activities to foster curiosity and a scientific mindset. I also strengthened school communication and community by publishing weekly digital class newsletters and contributing to the design of the school yearbook, supporting student engagement beyond the virtual classroom.
MYP & DP Science Teacher (Part Time)
At The Woodlands Preparatory School, I taught IB Diploma Programme (DP) Chemistry and Environmental Systems & Societies (ESS) and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Life Sciences for Grades 7–12. I hold Texas teaching certifications in Chemistry and Life Science, enabling me to deliver standards-aligned, rigorous secondary science instruction in both public and private school settings.
I led Collaborative Sciences Projects for DP ESS and DP Chemistry, integrating interdisciplinary inquiry, experimental design, and real-world environmental problem-solving. I also actively supported the school’s CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) community, mentoring students in service-learning projects aligned with IB philosophy.
Beyond classroom instruction, I spearheaded a campus-wide Pollinator Habitat Project, transforming wetland and upland areas into outdoor learning spaces. This initiative was developed in collaboration with the Environmental Services Department of The Woodlands Township and aligned with their “Plant for Pollinators” program, the UN Sustainable Development Goal: Zero Hunger, and the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign.
The project engaged students in Grades 7–11, along with faculty and staff, and supported the school’s vision of developing as a Green School. At the middle school level, I emphasized hands-on science learning, including Grade 7 Life Science activities such as building DNA models using LEGO® bricks, marshmallows, and manipulatives, reinforcing abstract biological concepts through tactile and collaborative learning.
Secondary Chemistry Teacher
As a Texas–certified Chemistry and Life Science educator, I taught high school chemistry in a public school environment within Conroe Independent School District. My instruction was aligned with Texas state standards, emphasizing conceptual understanding, laboratory safety, and scientific reasoning.
I designed and facilitated hands-on laboratory investigations, data analysis activities, and standards-aligned assessments to support student mastery of core chemistry concepts. I implemented differentiated instruction and formative assessment strategies to support diverse learners and promote readiness for advanced science coursework.
Student Teacher / Teaching Intern
As a Teaching Intern, I gained classroom-based experience in Life Science and Chemistry across Grades 7–12, supporting lesson planning, laboratory facilitation, grading, and classroom management under the mentorship of certified educators.
This role strengthened my foundational teaching practice and reinforced my ability to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Home-Based Tutoring
I provided individualized, in-person math and science tutoring for students in Grades 6–12, focusing on strengthening conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and academic confidence. Instruction was tailored to each student’s needs and aligned with school coursework and assessment expectations.
My tutoring approach emphasized diagnosing learning gaps, reinforcing foundational skills, and supporting sustained academic improvement through guided practice and feedback.
Contract | Woodlands, TX | Sep 2018 – May 2019
As a contract tutor with Best in Class Education, I supported middle and high school students in Math and Science through structured, in-person small-group and one-on-one instruction. I focused on improving subject mastery, test performance, and effective study habits.
Tutoring sessions were aligned with curriculum standards, with ongoing progress monitoring to support measurable student growth.
I maintain an educational YouTube channel, Sarker Research & Education, to share academic support resources and explain complex concepts through worked examples and visual storytelling.
