I replaced my Win7 with a Win10 machine. The downloads available for the HP LaserJet 3030 allow me to print but the scanner is not recognized. It doesn't think I have one. I do not see any additional downloads to support this printers functionality.

I had to reformat my computer and now when I plug in my HP LaserJet 3030 it doesn't work. The HP Universal Driver PCL5 automatically installed as well as the HP 3030 driver. If I try to print, the document is sent to the queue with a printing state. The printer is in its ready status. The unit is also not able scan. What needs to be done?

No ripping of the registry should be necessary. To clean up printer drivers all you need to do is go to Devices and Printers, highlight a printer, click Server properties from the toolbar and go to the Drivers tab. From here highlight and remove any drivers and the corresponding software that you like. Drivers must be removed from all printer objects before they can be deleted.

My appologies, the 3030 does not have a software package on Win7x64. All that you can download and install are the UPDs. The scan drivers are either built into Win7 or can be requested through MS updates. You may not be able to get all of the connected devices installed in the Device Manager, but the printer and scanner should atleast work.

I have a HP laser jet 3030 all in one printer. After I have purchased the MacBook pro and upgraded to OS X 12.8.6 (Sierra) I am unable to scan using my laser printer 3030. I a unable to find the drivers suitable for os x 12.8.6 . Need help.

The HP Printer Drivers v5.0 for Mac OS X mentioned by Viking do not specifically list your printer the HP Laser Jet 3030, it does list the Colour Laser Jet 3000 so that is maybe the cause of the confusion. Looking back further on the Apple Support Downloads site the only HP Printer Drivers I found that listed your printer was version 1.1.1 which was released in 2008 for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. HP Printer Driver 1.1.1 You could download it and then install it and see if it works, but I am not very hopeful.

The Mac driver support does not show scan or fax as available. I suspect that when this printer was new, there may have been some additional HP software that enabled these features in addition to print on Mac.

If Image Capture does not work, then don't bother looking at VueScan, as it only supports this HP LaserJet 3030 device on Windows. Do the research, and invest in a new scanner solution whose driver support permits scanning on macOS Sierra or later.

I too, have missed drivers in these endless eyecharts of supported printers, and almost missed this one before I posted. Thought it interesting that Apple has not posted any dedicated HP Printer Driver update since Aug. 2016. Make me wonder if their relationship with HP has soured.

HP LaserJet 3030 all in one printer is black and white and easy to use the printer. The printer supports USB and parallel interfaces. Concerning the physical buildup, the measurements of the sides of the printer vary. These include a height of 14.4 inches, width is about 19.6 inches, a depth is about 15 inches, and a weight of 25 lbs (about 11.34 kg) without cartridges. Here you can download HP LaserJet 3030 driver and Software.

The input paper tray of this HP printer can hold up to 150 sheets of plain paper. The output tray of the HP LaserJet 3030 printer can hold up to 125 sheets. The print resolution of the device also depends on the current printing mode. For instance, the draft mode produces a minimum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi).

The printing speed of this one is up to 14 ppm. This model of printer is also compatible with the wireless network with a suitable component. For scanning, the optical resolution is up to 600 x 600 dpi. The color depth is 24 bit. The fax resolution of this printer is 203 x 196 dpi, 203 x 98 dpi, 300 x 300 dpi. For basic printing functionality use the Postscript PPD. For advanced functionality such as printer status, maintenance features, scanning and photo card unload use the HPLIP driver (which includes HPIJS).

Printing anything with graphics from Firefix (such as a Google Maps page), or a PDF file containing graphics, takes a ridiculously long time to print, often several minutes per page. This is with a directly-attached USB postscript printer (an HP 3030 mfp).

I had the same problem with my HP LaserJet 1300. Changing the printer driver from the preselected "Foomatic" one to the "CUPS+Gutenprint" one solved this problem for me. See also -pdf-printing-is-slow.html.

Using the foomatic/Postscript driver, text files and the CUPS test page printed correctly, but when I tried to print a Google Maps map of San Francisco (per the original bug description), a job was sent to the printer which never printed. The activity light flashed for about 10 seconds while the printer displayed "Printing document" (as is normal), then the printer returned to idle state without printing anything.

The job-which-prints-nothing is odd. It is as if the driver sent corrupted Postscript, e.g. with no "showpage" at the end, or else encoded the image in a way which silently exceeded the memory on my older printer (an HP LaserJet 3030 mfp). Normally the printer displays an error message on its panel if memory is exhausted, and you have to press a button to continue.

The captured postscript file begins with "%!PS-Adobe-3.0", but my printer (an HP 3030) does not support postscript level 3!

Why is level 3 being generated? There must be something wrong with the foomatic config files describing the hp 3030 printer. I don't know where those original files are, but somebody who does should be able to check whether they say the printer is level 2 only or not.

I'm really sorry, my previous post comment #13) was a mistake. The problem is not fixed after all, and with the .ppd file changed to have LanguageLevel: "2" the driver still generates a PS Level 3 data for the printer (I think I used the wrong queue name before and unintentionally used a pcl driver instead of foomatic/Postscript).

Probably your printer has not enough memory to be used as an allround PostScript printer (like the HP LaserJet 1200/1300). The windows drivers most probably send PCL 5e data to the printer, like Gutenprint, HPLIP/HPIJS/hpcups, ... do. So I recommend you to set up this printer in PCL mode, best with an hpcups driver.

Please replace your /etc/cupshelpers/preferreddrivers.xml file by the attached one and try to set up your printer with system-config-printer again. Now it should get set up with a PCL driver and so it should get much faster. Please tell whether this works for you.
