You must be wondering what the Theory driving test is and whether it's important. The UK driving test is the second step towards gaining your full driving license, after you've applied and received a provisional license. In order to complete your practical test, you must complete your theory test. This is a really important part of learning to drive. When you get your practical test, you must be able to show that you can use what you learned for the test when actually driving on the road.
It's very significant to prepare for the test, the more prepared you are, the high chance you'll pass the first time. This has a great advantage, as you'll save more money and time. Each time you book a test it cost you £23.00 and it's really hard to find a test date. If you keep failing your theory test then this may affect your performance when taking driving lessons. However, if you decide to have great preparation and practice then you may be lucky to pass the first time.

People usually ask what to use when coming to revising. Well, there is no right and wrong way to revise. You could use the book or the app. The choice is yours.
The Theory exam isn't as scary as it sounds. It's actually quite straightforward. The driving theory test is broken up into two parts:
For the multiple choice question, it will be split up into three parts:
The Official Highway Code. These are the rules set by the UK government to ensure animals, pedestrians, and other drivers, cyclists, and motorcyclists are safe.
Know your Traffic Signs. The Signs include giving orders, warning signs, direction signs, information signs, and road signs. To help memorize this ask a family member or close friend for your knowledge. And of course, Drivedirect will be happy to help you with any questions. So, don't be afraid to ask.
The Official DVSA Guide to Driving (the essential skills). Have a look at the book as it provides everything you need to learn about and maintain safe driving for life.
All these are very essential if you want to pass your Theory exam.
The hazard perception part is deliverd on a computer and you need to respond by clicking on the mouse when you feel there a hazard.
You will be presented with a series of clips which features everyday road scenes. There are lots of online practice hazard perception tests so you know what to expect. In each clip there will be at least one developing hazard. Understand what a 'developing hazard' is and how to identify one, click as soon as you notice it.
Don't overdo the clicking, as it can affect your result.
Exams and tests are always the stressful part of life, but at the end of the day, they all are beneficial.
Here are some tips while going through the Theory book:
Familiarise yourself with the highway code.
Spot hazard while you're on the road.
Don't be afraid to ask for help when needed.
Don't rush. Take as much time as you need to practice. Remember you still got a 2-year time period. :)
Use your time wisely. Don't go over everything towards the end of the test date. Spread your time out. A timetable would become a great use here.
Most importantly, take as many of the mock Theory tests as you can. This will help you to understand what you know and don't.
Tips during the exam:
Make sure you drink lots of water before entering the exam.
Relax. Don't stress. Stress causes overthinking and we don't want that. Right?
Don't forget to breathe. You get a 3 minutes break between the first and second sections. (Finally!) So use that time to breathe and drink water.
Think positive. Most likely to have a good test.
Answer all the questions carefully.
Be mindful of the time and don't rush.
Remind yourself why you started in the first place. Review your goal.
Use the practice time. They give you 15 minutes before the test to familiarise yourself with the layout of the questions. Do it.
Flag tricky questions. You can always come back to it later.
Leave plenty of time so you could review your answer.
Please don't forget your provisional driving license. If you don't then you won't be able to sit the test and would have to still pay for the test fee. So be Prepared.
