My Priorities as Jackson City Treasurer
The office of City Treasurer carries an important fiduciary responsibility to the residents of Jackson. While every office presents opportunities to learn and grow, my approach will be guided by a few clear priorities from day one.
Clear Answers. No Runaround.
Residents deserve straightforward information, consistent answers, and responsive service. The Treasurer's Office should help people solve problems, not create new ones. Whether someone has a question about taxes, assessments, payments, or city processes, they should be able to get clear and understandable answers.
Support the Professionals Who Serve Residents
The staff of the Treasurer's Office are the foundation of excellent public service. Residents interact with these professionals every day, and strong offices are built by strong teams. Supporting employees, encouraging professional development, and providing the tools needed to serve residents effectively will be a priority.
Work Together to Better Serve Residents
No office operates in isolation. The Treasurer works alongside the County Treasurer, Assessor, Finance Department, City Administration, and other public partners. Strong communication and collaboration across offices help reduce confusion, improve service, and make local government easier for residents to navigate.
Long-Term Fiduciary Stewardship
The Treasurer is entrusted with safeguarding public resources on behalf of taxpayers. Public funds should be managed responsibly and transparently, with careful attention to long-term stability, security, and sustainability. Good stewardship requires balancing today's needs with tomorrow's responsibilities.
Accountability Over Accounting
The Treasurer's Office is more than a bookkeeping function. It is a fiduciary office and a public-trust office. Stewardship, transparency, sound judgment, responsibility, and public trust should guide every decision. Residents deserve confidence that public resources are being managed responsibly and in the best interests of the community.
Public Service Matters
Throughout my career in administration, education, nonprofit leadership, and community service, I have learned that trust is earned through responsibility, accountability, and service. Those principles will guide my work as Jackson City Treasurer.
Your City. Your Money. Your Choice.
