I am a soon-to-be graduate of Iowa State University, graduating in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Since 2019, I’ve served in the Iowa Army National Guard, where I’ve taken on roles as a Platoon Radio/Computer Specialist, Horizontal Construction Engineer, and Soldier. In these roles, I’ve been responsible for maintaining radio communication and onboard computer systems, collaborating with my team to accomplish missions, and leading and mentoring peers to ensure tasks are completed to high standards.
In addition to my academic and military experiences, I’ve been involved in extracurricular activities. As a member of the National Honor Society, I organized events and helped promote fundraising initiatives. I’ve also tutored peers as part of the Terrific Tutoring Team in Highschool and volunteered in school and community activities to support development and build connections. My dedication to both academics and service has earned me a spot on the Dean’s List from 2021 to 2024, as well as awards like the Superior Academic Graduate, 12N Honor Graduate, Army Achievement Medal, and the IANG Leadership Ribbon.
I am eager to begin a career where I can leverage my technical skills and passion for programming. I am particularly interested in roles that involve designing and enhancing user interfaces and engaging directly with user-focused applications. My goal is to contribute to projects that bring real value to others, fostering positive user experiences while making a meaningful impact. I am excited to join a team where I can grow as an integral member, collaborating and innovating to drive forward both the success of the organization and my professional development.
Creating a wireless mesh network using ESP32 microcontrollers and IDE sensors to monitor pesticide spray distribution across different levels of a corn crop canopy, allowing for centralized data collection and analysis
Through my time at ISU, I have been able to take part in many projects that have tested my Engineering abilities and mindset.
Here I would like to showcase a few examples:
A pipelined processor capable of interpreting and executing MIPS instructions from scratch using VHDL code files created in Model Sim
A multiplayer quiz game that makes studying fun by allowing students to create, answer, and trick each other with questions
Creating a robot that autonomously maps a field, avoids obstacles, and navigates to a charging station, with an application in agriculture
Through my program exploration courses at ISU, I have written multiple essays and such on my experience at ISU and my outlook as an Engineer.
Here are some of such written works:
A reflection on General Education Courses that I have taken at Iowa State University and their impact on me
A reflection on my overall experience at Iowa State University and development as a student and engineer
An essay on the relevance, importance, and complexities of ethics in engineering settings and life
