Weekly classes in Sep
Each session follows a gentle, prepared structure to help children feel safe and confident. We start with a welcome circle, followed by warm-ups, games, movement, creative play and story-building. There’s always room for flexibility based on the group's needs and energy levels. We end with a calming wind-down activity.
Yes – we want you to feel completely comfortable. Parents and carers are welcome to stay and watch or join in, especially in the early days as your child settles in. Some children prefer having that familiar face nearby and that's absolutely fine.
Our team includes experienced theatre practitioners and facilitators with training in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), safeguarding and first aid. We are passionate about creating joyful, accessible experiences for every child.
Absolutely! We celebrate all forms of communication – verbal, non-verbal, sign language, AAC devices or other methods. We tailor activities so every child can engage in a way that works for them.
Yes, we include regular short breaks and can pause for individual needs at any time. Children are welcome to step away, rest or have a snack whenever needed. There is no pressure to participate every moment – comfort comes first.
Yes. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilets. Please let us know any specific mobility or equipment needs in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
Yes – we can provide a quiet, private space for tube feeding, breastfeeding or administering medication. Let us know what you need and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Yes! This is a space for both disabled children and their siblings to share experiences and enjoy creative play together. A key aspect of Dreams in Motion: The Special Theatre Academy is building on that connection between siblings.
We recommend comfy clothes they can move in and anything that helps them feel secure – a favourite toy, noise-cancelling headphones or comfort items are totally welcome. Please bring any snacks, drinks or medical supplies they may need.
That’s completely okay. We understand that every child has different needs and that sometimes things change moment by moment. There’s no judgment and no pressure – we’ll support you and your child however we can.
