Weekly classes in Sep
Hi there, we're Kavita and Louise. We are best friends from secondary school - we met when we were 11 years old! Our idea of a theatre academy evolved as we worked together on 1-2-1 communication workshops for children with additional needs.
Dreams in Motion: The Special Theatre Academy was born from that work and was a natural progress with Kavita's background in writing and music, and Louise's teaching background.
Kavita has extensive experience in disabilities, having run a NeuroMovement disability centre. She now manages therapies overseas.
As a parent of a disabled child, Kav understands the importance of connection rather than fixing and brings this philosophy to her work.
She also sings in a pop choir, writes poetry and hosts a poetry podcast, sharing her passion for creative expression.
Kavita is grateful for the opportunity to soon shadow at Sylvia Young and Chickenshed, and looks forward to bringing those insights back to enrich the academy.
Louise is a primary school teacher with over 20 years of experience.
She brings her passion for education, creativity and inclusion to the stage.
She has directed numerous school plays, helping children shine and develop confidence through performance.
In the next couple of months, we are excited to be launching a range of holiday workshops and weekly sessions.
