This document is the source of truth for the extension’s privacy practices. Publish the same text on the public policy URL linked from the Chrome Web Store developer dashboard before review.
SharePoint Wiki from Markdown helps you import Markdown into modern SharePoint Site Pages (including draft-safe import, preview, images, batch create, table of contents, and breadcrumbs).
Import and page writing run in your browser using your existing Microsoft 365 / SharePoint session. We do not operate a DreamBuilderApps backend that receives your Markdown, page content, or SharePoint credentials.
We do not sell user data. We do not use data for advertising or profiling. This release does not include analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or in-app subscription / account platforms.
To provide import features, the extension processes data locally on your device and, when you run an import, talks to SharePoint / Microsoft 365 APIs using your signed-in browser session.
This may include:
Markdown you provide — text you paste, .md files, folders, or zip bundles you choose to import.
Preview HTML — generated in the side panel so you can check structure before write.
Target SharePoint context — site URL, Site Page identity, folder paths under Site Pages, and related API responses needed to create or update pages.
Images referenced in Markdown — https:// (and similar) image URLs, including external hosts, and data: images. On import, the extension may fetch those assets and upload them into your Site Assets library so they render on the page.
Page canvas content — read/write of modern page canvas content so the extension can replace or append, insert TOC/breadcrumbs, and report success.
Markdown content and SharePoint page bodies are not sent to DreamBuilderApps servers. They are processed in the extension and written to your tenant under your permissions.
The extension declares access to SharePoint hosts and a broad host permission so it can fetch image URLs embedded in your Markdown (including URLs outside *.sharepoint.com) during import. That access is used for import workflows you start — not to scrape unrelated browsing in the background.
The extension stores data in chrome.storage.local on your device. It stays there until you clear it or uninstall the extension.
Typical items:
Settings — for example auto-publish, persist-logs toggle, bundle size limits, batch folder-mirroring options, TOC placement defaults, and related preferences.
Optional technical logs — if “persist logs” is enabled, recent log lines used for debugging import failures.
UI preferences — for example rate-us prompt counters and “don’t ask again” style flags.
We do not sync this data to DreamBuilderApps servers. Chrome may include extension storage in browser profile backups if you use Chrome sync for extensions — that is governed by Google’s policies, not by a DreamBuilderApps server.

In Chrome: Extensions → SharePoint Wiki from Markdown → Details → Clear data (wording may vary by Chrome version).
Content already written to SharePoint remains in your Microsoft 365 tenant and is managed under your organization’s SharePoint / Microsoft policies.
In the current release we do not collect or transmit usage analytics, crash reports, account emails, or personal information to DreamBuilderApps.
There is no DreamBuilderApps analytics endpoint, no Google Analytics / Measurement Protocol integration, and no third-party billing or account SDK in this build.
When you import, network requests go to:
Microsoft / SharePoint endpoints for page and Site Assets operations (under your login), and
Image hosts you referenced in Markdown, solely to download assets for upload into Site Assets.
Those third parties process data under their own terms (for example Microsoft’s privacy statement for SharePoint / Microsoft 365).
On-device processing and local storage: solely to provide import, preview, settings, and related extension features you control.
SharePoint API calls you initiate: to create/update Site Pages and upload images into your tenant.
Email support: if you contact us, to respond to your questions using whatever you choose to send.
We do not use your Markdown or SharePoint content for targeted advertising, credit decisions, or data brokerage.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.
We may disclose information only:
With your direction (for example when you email support and attach logs), or
If required by law, or
To protect security (for example investigating abuse), or
As part of a merger or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.
Because Markdown and page content stay in your browser session / Microsoft tenant for core workflows, a business transfer would not include your imported page bodies unless you had separately sent them to us.
Import traffic uses your browser’s connection to SharePoint and to image URLs you supplied. Keep your Microsoft account signed in only on devices you trust. We cannot control your organization’s SharePoint permissions, retention, or DLP policies.
The extension is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Use of information received through Chrome extension permissions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:
We use permissions and accessed data only to provide or improve the extension’s stated purpose: importing Markdown into SharePoint Site Pages and related local workflows.
We do not use page or Markdown content for personalized ads, retargeting, or sale to data brokers.
We do not allow humans to read your Markdown or SharePoint page content except as needed for support if you explicitly send it to us, or as required for security or legal compliance.
We do not transfer that content to third parties except Microsoft / image hosts as required for the import you start, where you voluntarily share it, or where required by law.
We may update this policy when practices change. The Last updated date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing and public policy page.
If analytics, billing, or other remote collection is added later, this policy and the store data disclosures will be updated before or with that release.
