Dr Deepak Kumar Panda is Royal Academy of Engineering UKIC Postdoctoral Research Fellow focusing on developing Antifragile AI solution for secure air mobility.
He obtained his PhD from University of Exeter in 2022, focusing on Applied AI and Control of Smart Grids. He got his M.Tech specializing in Industrial Automation and Control from National Institute of Technology, Calicut in 2016, after completing his graduation in Electrical Engineering (Power) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2014.He worked as Automation and Digitalization Engineer in Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, India from 2016-18.
[July 2025] Paper on "Generative Adversarial Evasion and Out-of-Distribution Detection for UAV Cyber-Attacks" got accepted in IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Conference 2025.
[June 2025] Presented my research on "Antifragility" at Machines with Morals Workshop .
[December 2024] Paper on Gaussian Process digital twin for voltage stability analysis of complex power networks under perturbations got published in Expert Systems with Applications.
[November 2024] I will be giving a talk on "AI for Energy and Aerial Navigation Systems" at C-DICE Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Futures Workshop .
[September 2024] Presented my current fellowship work on "Antifragile AI for Secure Air Mobility" at Data Science in Transport Conference conducted by Department for Transport (DfT) on 13th September 2024.
[September 2024] Paper on Action Robust Reinforcement Learning for Air Mobility Deconfliction against Conflict Induced Spoofing has been published in IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems.
[September 2024] - Presented my current fellowship work on "Antifragile AI for Secure Air Mobility " at RITICS Fest on 13th September 2024.
[September 2024] - Got selected as Cyber-AI expert as a part of the workshop on Automated Cyber Defence III by the Centre for Emerging Technologies, Alan Turing Institute .
[August 2024] - Paper on Observer based Decentralized Load Frequency Control with False Data Injection Attack for specified network quality and delay got published in Chaos Solitons and Fractals.
[December 2023] - Paper on Prioritized experience replay based deep distributional reinforcement learning for battery operation in microgrids got published in Journal of Cleaner Production.
[November 2023] - Delivered a seminar on "Aviation AI Security" at Airbus Filton Site on the ECATA [The European Consortium for Advanced Training in Aerospace] Alumni Seminar Series.
[October 2023] - Got selected amongst the seven researchers for the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering UK Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellowship 2023-25.
[October 2023] - Chaired the session on Vehicular Security in IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, Hong Kong 2023.
[March 2023] - Delivered a seminar on "AI for Unmanned Traffic Management" at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
[September 2022] - Started a new position at Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems, Cranfield University as Research and Teaching Fellow in AI and Autonomy.
[September 2022] - Completed PhD on the thesis titled "Data Science and Control for Stability and Resilience for Futuristic Smart Grids" from Centre for Environmental Mathematics, University of Exeter .
