About the conference

The Department for Transport (DfT) will be holding the Data Science in Transport Conference in London on 24th September at Google's London office, 6 Pancras Square. Building on the success of last year's conference, this year's event intends to help embed AI in transport, preparing both the transport sector and the organisations which enable it for rapid change. 

Conference aims

The key aims of the conference are:

• Showcase the latest AI and data science innovations applicable to or using transport data.

• Share methodological best practice on AI across the transport network.

• Build links and strengthen the transport data science community across government, academia, and industry, so that we can learn from each other.

• Further embed the use of responsible AI and data science approaches to help deliver a transport system that is clean, efficient, and affordable for all.

• Share and promote discussion on major trends, opportunities and risks for AI that may impact the UK’s transport network.

Scope

We are putting together an exciting programme of presentations and exhibitions. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network. Please see the FAQ page for further information. 

Participant registration

Registration for the conference has now closed. There is no fee to attend and refreshments will be provided. Please see the FAQ page for our policy in the event that we are oversubscribed and other information. The agenda will be published closer to the event.

Please note that if the conference is oversubscribed, we will prioritise participants that reflect a broad mix from academia, industry, and government.

Key Dates

• 30th August - Attendee registration closes.

• 6th September - Confirmation will be sent to attendees. As we are oversubscribed, some people will be placed on the reserve list.
