Dr. Valencia (Dutton) Hall has an undergraduate degree in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from Prairie View A&M University, and a Doctorate of Education degree concentrating on Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Southern University. Dr. Hall started her teaching career as a substitute in North Forest Independent School District in September of 2003. The temporary position turned into a permanent position in a Computer Technology classroom at Forest Brook High School. In Spring 2004, Dr. Hall was hired as a full-time Technology teacher and later became an Engineering teacher/CTE Department Chair. She was also chosen by Houston Community College and her high school administrative staff to become a dual credit instructor/Adjunct Professor for Technical Drafting in 2006. North Forest ISD closed in 2013 and she was the last District Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Hall took her talents to Houston Independent School District as an Engineering Project-Based Learning Facilitator (Teacher) at Energy Institute High School. She was able to take on numerous leadership positions while maintaining her love for teaching the students in the classroom. In the 2013-2014 school year she was honored with receiving campus Teacher of the Year, became the C-STEM 2016 Southeast Region Teacher of the Year for her hard work with the students for competitions on her campus and a district Professional Learning Opportunity Team (PLOT) Key Teacher.
Dr. Hall has proven that she is a team player and all about students’ education on and off campus. She has sponsored the C-STEM competition groups, National Honor Society, and Energy Converters Club at Energy Institute H.S. and previously worked as a Teacher Selection Specialist for Houston ISD in the Human Resources department. Currently, she is an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston ISD, where she has been the CTE Administrator, AP/SAT Testing Coordinator, LPAC Coordinator, Senior Class Sponsor, Freshmen Administrator, and numerous other important titles on campus.
