Empowering Communities for Effective Disaster Response
In the face of disasters, the strength of our response lies in our unity and preparedness. DRDC is a pioneering initiative designed to support new Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), and grassroots disaster response groups. Our mission is to provide comprehensive disaster response training and coordination alongside independent response capabilities to ensure community efforts are empowered by the best guidance available. We focus on volunteer activity and the expansion & refining of scopes of work groups can provide within their communities.

1. Heavy Equipment: Operations management of heavy machinery deployment such as clearing roads, moving large debris, and assisting in construction efforts. This ensures that critical infrastructure can be restored quickly and safely.
2. Debris Removal: Organizing and executing large-scale debris removal operations to clear affected areas, making them safe for residents and responders. This includes flood mitigation activities.
3. Sawyer Services: Skilled sawyers equipped to handle tree removal and trimming, ensuring that fallen trees and branches do not pose a threat to safety or impede recovery efforts.
4. Sort and Salvage: Assisting in sorting through damaged properties to salvage valuable items and materials. This helps affected individuals recover important belongings and reduces waste.
5. Mucking and Gutting Homes: Volunteers trained to muck out and gut homes that have been flooded or damaged. This involves removing water, mud, and damaged materials to prepare homes for repair and rebuilding.
6. Sanitizing Homes: Providing sanitization services to ensure that homes are safe and habitable after a disaster. This includes cleaning and disinfecting to prevent the spread of mold and other contaminants.
7. Donations and Distribution Center: Managing donations and distribution centers, ensuring that essential supplies such as food, water, clothing, and medical supplies are distributed efficiently to those in need.
8. Roof Tarping: Skilled teams in installing temporary roof tarps to protect homes from further damage until permanent repairs can be made. This helps prevent water intrusion and additional structural damage.
9. Emergency Home Repair: Offering emergency home repair services to address immediate safety concerns and make homes livable again. This includes fixing broken windows, doors, and other critical components.
10. Basic Living Rebuilds: Supporting the rebuilding of basic living structures, ensuring that affected individuals have safe and secure housing. This includes constructing temporary shelters and the partial repair of damaged homes to certain specifications.
11. Proprietary Modular Tiny Homes: Promoting the construction of tiny homes as a quick and efficient solution for providing shelter to those displaced by disasters. These homes are designed to be durable, sustainable, cost-effective, and can be deployed without the use of heavy equipment.
