Current Research Work

The students with good programming and analytical skills, having knowledge of basic deep learning models are most welcomed to contact me for following research projects:

  1. Object Detection (to detect and recognize different parts of system) algorithms based on CAD models: The objective is to evaluate how well detection algorithms perform when training without full access to real data. Participants can create and train their algorithms using the CAD models of these parts that are given. Authentic photos of the genuine objects will be used during the test phase.

Benefit to students: Work Experience in International and Interdisciplinary Team, Quality publications at International Venues.

  1. Oil Spill Identification using Deep Neural Networks: To help with leak cleanups and environmental protection, oil spills from pictures must be identified and segmented. The autonomous detection of oil pollution in relevant area is giving reduction of maritime accidents also. The objective is to propose novel architecture which can run efficiently on given dataset as well as on benchmark datasets (if any) also.

Benefit to students: Work experience in International and Interdisciplinary team, Quality publications at International Venues, Chance to work on Real-time data captured by Drone

  1. Palmprint recognition for personal human identification : Palmprint recognition is an important and widely used modality in biometric systems. It has a high reliability, stability and user acceptability. The objective is to propose novel and efficient techniques capable to tackle the problem of various illumination sources and low quality images resulting from uncontrolled acquisition conditions .
