The purpose of the final project is to transition from our roles as dramaturgs during the reading of the play to playwrights then, finally, production team members mounting a performance of an original scene to be incorporated into the already existing play. However, rather than the Stage Manager serving as the narrator, you and your fellow playwrights will need to select another character from the play to narrate a new scene. After writing your scene, you and your group will become a production team to decide how you will perform the scene for the class. Each group will also be responsible for creating a slideshow to justify their intellectual and artistic choices in the scene in an effort to answer the questions: Why this play? Why now?
