Physical and Earth Science is our inaugural journey into high school science. In this class, we focus on developing the tools and regimen to do well in chemistry and biology. We will learn to do weekly reading and homework on a consistent basis while experiencing classical physics, chemistry, and earth sciences. Combined with a weekly lab, Physical and Earth Science is an exciting, and foundational, transition into the world of science.
Resources for Physical Science: You will need a calculator and a textbook.
Textbook: Our textbook for Physical Science is: Conceptual Physical Science by Hewitt, Hewitt, and Suchocki, 5th Edition 2012. It can be found at Amazon.com: https://shorturl.at/lwMSS Used texts are very inexpensive. Look for the "Other used..." link on the upper right of the page.
Calculator: You won't need a fancy, high-powered calculator for physical science. A simple, less-than $10 calculator will suffice: I like the Casio FX-260 or the equivalent. It can be found here at Amazon.com: https://shorturl.at/T71mT. A more complex calculator will only make your life harder, so rather than buy an expensive calculator, find a simple one like the Casio-FX-260.
