Activities

Contribution to maintain Gender Equity and Equality in Institutional, Community, National Level & International Level

•  Participated the ToT (Training of Trainers) one day Workshop by the CGEE of University of Vavuniya and the UGC on 27th July 2023 and a Trainer at the University level.

• Served as a Resource person on Gender sensitivity and GBV response for the Youth Leadership Programme in Jaffna in 2023.

• Member of the Interim Committee of Gender Cell of the University of Jaffna in 2017 and appointed as a  Member of the Sub-committee of  Education and Research to the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality (GEEC), University of Jaffna for a period of two years. 

•  Served as a Resource Person for the Educational Programme on “ Path to Protect” for the prevention of Child Abuse in Vanni range organized by the Deputy Inspector General of Police held on 2nd October 2017 at V/ Saivapragasa Ladies College Vavuniya.

• Member of the Interim Committee of Gender Cell of the University of Jaffna in 2017.

• Participated in the Workshop on Training on Investigating Sexual Harassment held on 8th December 2016 Organized by UGC and disseminated my knowledge.

• Served as a resource person for Training on Gender Issues and including the prevention of Gender Based Violence Workshop for government and Non-government organizations staff in July 2013 and October 2013.

• Served as resource person for Awareness Programme on “To increase Women Participation in different levels of Planning and Implementation” Conducted by Women’s Resource Centre for Community leaders.

• Served as the Visiting Lecturer on Gender and Development for the Community Development & Management Programme of Vavuniya Campus.

• Presented paper on Gender Equality Issues at the International Conference.

• As a Resource person of the “We Can” and “Gender Equality” Workshops Organized by FOSDOO, Vavuniya in 2009.

• Participated Workshop on “Gender Equality” for Teachers to be implemented at Schools & Family, Organized by FOSDOO, Vavuniya in 2009.

Other Contributions

•  Serving as an outside expert for the evaluation of the contributions to research and creative works of Dr. CMYSS Bandara of RUSL for the promotion to the post of Professor/ Associate Professor in 2025.

•  Serving as the Senate nominee for the Selection Committee for   recruiting Academics for Dept. of Marketing Management, HRM, Management & Entrepreneurship and DELT of the University of Vavuniya.

• Served as a member for the selection Board for Recruiting the Lecturers(Temporary) in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management in 2019.

• Served as a member of the panel of Reviewers to evaluate the progress of the Research of a candidate of M.Phil leading to PhD( FGS/M.Phil/Mgt(Mkg)/2015/02) at the University of Jaffna - March 2017, June 2018.

• Served as a member of the panel of Reviewers to evaluate the merit of the Research Proposal of a candidate (URG/2018/DMCSCE/29) for University Research Grant in April 2018.

• Served as a setter and the examiner for the recruitment Examination of Management Assistants to the Vavuniya Campus in 2018.
