Teaching Materials:
I have published a handful of classroom projects I have developed or adapted:

Processes that Regulate Patterns of Species and Genetic Diversity – Intro Environmental Science. Kelly, M. ESA Data Explorers FMN (2019), QUBES Educational Resources, 2019. doi:10.25334/Q4NR0T
Major Ions in Freshwater Systems. Kelly, M. Project EDDIE, 2021.
Courses Taught:
I have taught a variety of chemistry and environmental science courses, lab and lecture, for majors and non-majors, at multiple institutions:
Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago:
ACCHM 101, 111, 102, and 112: General Chemistry I and II with Labs
-I developed these with my colleague Dr. Michael Nguyen and co-taught ACCHM 111, General Chemistry I Lab, with him in Fall 2024.
ACISC 101: Scientific Basis of Environmental Issues
-I developed this course for Arrupe College in Fall 2016 and have taught it regularly since then. In Spring 2024, I adopted a specifications/standards hybrid grading scheme and look forward to revising it next time I teach it.
ACISC 102: Environmental Processes, Challenges, and Methods
-I developed this lecture+lab course for Arrupe College in Spring 2017 and have taught it regularly since then. In Spring 2022, I adopted a Project-Based Learning component for this course and look forward to revising it next time I teach it.
ACCHM 100: Introductory Chemistry
-This lecture-only course provided students a foundation they could build on after transfer to an institution where they could take lab-based chemistry courses. I developed this in 2018-2019 and taught it in Fall 2020, but we don't teach it anymore now that we have a lab to teach the General Chemistry series in.
I also helped develop Introductory Biology and supported the development of the General Biology series at Arrupe.
Lake Superior State University:
CHEM 108/109: Applied Chemistry
-I taught this lecture+lab every semester from Fall 2013-Spring 2015 at LSSU.
CHEM 115/116: General Chemistry I and II Labs
-I taught these lab courses several times at LSSU.
CHEM/EVRN 341: Environmental Chemistry
-I taught this lecture/lab to Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry students in Fall 2015, including 4 field trips.
CHEM/EVRN 395: Junior Seminar
-This seminar helped Chemistry and Environmental Science students develop their senior research project and the research skills to execute it. I taught it in Spring 2016.
EVRN 311: Environmental Law
-I taught this course in Fall 2013 and Fall 2015, to Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, and Fisheries and Wildlife Management majors, using a case-based approach.
EVRN 313: Solid and Hazardous Waste
-I taught this course in Spring 2014 and Spring 2016 to Environmental Science majors.
EVRN 425: Environmental Systems Analysis
-I taught this course in Spring 2015 to Environmental Science majors.
NSCI 104: Intro to Environmental Science Lab
-I taught this non-majors general education lab every semester from Fall 2013 to Spring 2015.
USEM 101: Foundations of University Success
-I taught this course for first year Environmental Science students in Fall 2014 and Fall 2015.
Minneapolis Community and Technical College:
CHEM 1040 and 1041: Chemistry in Your Life and Lab
-I taught this general education, non-majors course as a long-term substitute in the second half of Fall 2012 and it's what made me fall in love with teaching and with two-year colleges.
CHEM 1020: Intro Chemistry Lab
-I taught this in Spring 2013 to mostly allied health students.
CHEM 1151:
-I taught this in Spring 2013 to mostly science majors.
